To maintain a healthy weight, middle-aged women essentially have to work their tails off, exercising 60 minutes a day. Seven days a
week. For women who already are overweight, “it may be too late,” the study ominously states.
Who has that kind of time and discipline? Many of the Orange County women I spoke with acknowledged, shaking their heads, that putting on pounds probably is inevitable for women (and a lot of men) as they age. But that didn’t stop them from working as hard as they could to keep inevitability at bay.
